DIY Clean: Natural Fabric Softener

While trying to decipher the ingredients on the back label of a brand named fabric softener, the ideal of a natural cleaning agent came to me. Something that could do the same job without the unpronounceable chemicals in it. I decided to do a little research. I came across an article about a family that made their own laundry soap and fabric softener out of natural, easy-to-find products. So here's how they did it:

Step 1: Set washer to fill with water
Step 2: Add 1 cup Baking Soda and your laundry soap to water
Step 3: Add laundry
Step 4: Wash & dry

Baking Soda (1lb. box $2) fabric softener is great on bed linens and undergarments or clothes that are a little stiff or scratchy after bringing them home from the store.

Happy cleaning,
Grace
