DIY Outside: A Delicious Planter

While sitting at our patio table, I wondered if there was such a thing as a planter that fit around a patio table's umbrella. Then a few days later, my sister gave me the idea of repurposing an old bundt pan into a patio table umbrella planter. So here's how I did it.

Step 1: Find a bundt pan at your local thrift store or use one that you already hate (oops.. I mean have). Note: Make sure your umbrella will fit in pan hole.

Step 2: If you don't love the color, spray it with indoor-outdoor paint like Krylon in "Bahama Sea".

Step 3: Drill a few holes in the bottom to allow water to drain from your soil. Note: 4 or 5 holes should be plenty, too many holes will leave your soil dry.

Step 4: Remove umbrella from patio. Line up bundt pan hole over patio table's hole and slide umbrella down through bundt pan center.

Step 5: Fill with soil and flowers or succulents.
Now you have a "delicious" planter that's at the center of a future patio party!

Happy repurposing,
Grace
